The mountain recieves
the last rays of autumn
Flocks of birds follow
the first flights.
A flash of emerald
flares out from time to time
The darkness of evening
has nowhere to rest.
From the vault of light
at the going down of the sun,
The voices of the birds
mingle with the voice of the torrent.
The path beside the stream
winds into the distance;
Joy of solitude,
will you ever come to an end?

Sheltered from the Spring wind by
A silver screen, I doze in my
Folded quilt, cold and alone.
I start awake at the cry
Of a bird----my dream is gone.
The same sorrow, the same headache
Return.Thick shadows of flowers
Darken the filigree lattice.
Incense coils over the screen
And spirals past my pillow.
The oriole is not to blame
For the broken dream of a
Bygone Spring. I sit with my
Old anguish as the evening fades.
