sweet memories (zz)
I had to laugh tonight when my four year old daughter lay spread eagle on my stomach sucking her thumb and listening to her favorite CD, EBTG Acoustic, and asked me "does that singing lady have little kids too". I told her no, but out of curiosity, checked on the internet and found that, yes, she does. I should have known, her singing indicates the same passion and sensitivity that translates to having children. I have been a huge fan since EBTG was recommended by a family I was nannying for 10 years ago, bought all the CDs and was awed by them, and saw them in Cleveland after Walking Wounded was released. I was amazed by Ben's music before the show started, I don't think the majority in prehistoric Cleveland understood his genius, but I saw how the crowd was so mean but passionate about EBTG when they booed (sad) the opening act and yelled for Ben and Tracey. I was amazed by the show, and felt that I had seen something historic musically. I think that Tracey should enjoy her children because being a good mother is its own talent, outside of all the others: I bet they really enjoy her lullabies and are probably going to be geniuses in their own right. I believe that everything comes full circle and that time is short because of this cycle. I felt a small, strange vindication tonight when I discovered that Ben and Tracey have children. Some things are inevitable and so right. We will all be ready and waiting when and if another album from EBTG comes out, and it will speak to me, and all of us, when they have something else that they need to express as a couple musically. If not, lucky kids, mine and theirs: I always come back to EBTG as a favorite group and listen over and over again to their music. Thanks. Jennie
