首先还是prelude~~~
O.C.这盘我盼了很久,终于在圣诞之前拿到了(不足200RMB,如果在半年前真是不可能的事情...).不过马上就传来坏消息....似乎在国外再版已经有多起来的趋势.不过这也是好消息,因为这就意味着国内有可能收到了,所有的DITC headz有盼头了!
首先说说label,此盘发行于20世纪90年代初最伟大,同时也是可耻的hip-hop厂牌----Wild Pitch Records.该厂牌伟大之处在于旗下的人超强,有Ultramagnetic MCs',Lord Finesse & DJ Mike Smooth,Gang Starr,The Coup,O.C.,Main Source...等等(怎么样吓死人了吧...);而可耻之处则在于其promotion做得是前无古人后无来者的垃圾!!!这也直接致使Main Source的Breaking Atoms成为Source五十大经典中唯一out of print的...可谓是一大遗憾.同样的遗憾还发生在Gang Starr第一张No More Mr.Nice Guy,Lord Finesse的经典之作Funky Technician,The Coup的Kill My Landlord上,当然还有这张Word...Life
O.C.生于1973年,Queens,NYC.他和Organized Konfusion的两个家伙是发小,长期保持着铁瓷的关系,1991年OK发同名专辑,第一首歌Fudge Pudge里他就来了一段强到不行的verse 3..

不过在成年之后,此人迁徙到了Brooklyn.但甚至在Word...Life的booklet里他都把自己归于Organizm Crew的一员,而不是DITC..可见真是情谊深厚.
track by track的review就不做了.首先还是从OK说起,整张包括Intro,Outro13首,有3首是Organized Konfusion制作,包括beat非常优美的IntroCreative Control和超级强的bonus trackBorn 2 Live Remix.这个数字仅次于Buckwild的8首,另外还有Lord Finesse2首:No Main Topic和Story,还算一般.剩下一首Ga Head出自DJ Eclipse,此人现在和Non-Phixion过从甚密..

总的来说还是有一些头重脚轻,因为最好的歌还是集中在前面.纵使这样Word...Life依然足够忝列Hip-Hop史上最伟大的唱片之一.尤其是Time's Up和Word...Life,Buckwild最好的beat也几乎都在这张里了.至于OK,我觉得他们给O.C.做的beat甚至胜过给自己的!这与某些制作人把好beat留给自己的group(我是说Stoupe哈哈)形成了鲜明的对比.
完了,帖一段歌词..Time's Up的verse 1,其中有些line在之后被sample过N次..
