About the Artist
Recently graduating from Baldwin-Wallace College in May, 2003 with a multi-age art education degree, Alicia A. Ross is new to the Cleveland art scene. Blending technology with photography, Alicia’s goal remains to create aesthetically pleasing images that provoke thought. While at BW, Alicia received several art and technology related awards including the Will Richmond Prize in Photography (2002), numerous high placed awards in the annual student exhibitions (2000-2003), and the honor of participating in a federally funded project called MIMIC where students tutored professors in technology (2001).
At the age of 20, Alicia launched her own online company that offers affordable web space to artists called The Siamese Connection. Serving as president/webmaster for www.thesiameseconnection.com and www.aliciaross.com and several other corporate websites, Alicia also finds pleasure in the e-commerce world through EBay. Moreover, Alicia serves as chief website designer for a local computer consulting firm.
At such an early age, Alicia has been fortunate enough to have exhibited in some of the most cutting-edge galleries in Cleveland. Most recently, Alicia was given a one-woman show in Four Corners Gallery located in the Colonial ARTcade, Cleveland. In addition, Alicia recently joined three other Cleveland area photographers for an exhibition at The Art Gallery in Willoughby, Ohio.
Alicia has future plans of obtaining her Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography and some day teaching at the university level. |
