Ben Watt has has made a name for himself as a top club DJ in recent years spinning deep inspirational house music, but on August 13 he teams up with Everything But The Girl partner and vocalist Tracey Thorn to throw the first of a series of new occasional DJ parties at west London's intimate Cherry Jam entitled 'A Different Kitchen'.

There will be no live performance from the duo, nor much house music; instead they promise a night of 'inspirations and half-remembered classics'. Expect an eclectic 20 year DJ journey from their roots to the present day through vintage disco and British hustle, post-punk soul, nu bossa, Billy Sherrill and underground e-pop.

'Ben has been throwing successful house parties for 6 years,' says Tracey. 'We've always talked of doing something together like this, and we wanted to do something different and intimate. Cherry Jam is perfect - it's loungey but suitably decadent. We can be eclectic, diverse and have some fun. We're not out to slay the dancefloor, just create a great skewed party.'
