再听RJD2（change the muthaf**kin' world）

曾经借过坏蓝的RJD2《Dead Ringer》一听，放到机子里不到两遍，就很快的就还了回去。当时，我们一同感叹到确不如DJ Shadow的那张《Endtroducing...》带劲。而在某一个鬼使神差的日子里，又把《Dead Ringer》买回了家（只记得那天实在是没什么收获）。而再次聆听《Dead Ringer》的感觉是截然不同的。我想这里我得承认第一次的体验是失败的。
RJD2和Shadow有许多的相似之处，这或许大家都能够体会得到（要不也不能把RJD2比作“另一个DJ Shadow”）：无论是对于Funk/ Soul音乐的偏爱，还是他们采样和拼贴技术手法的类似（在《Dead Ringer》中，很多的Beat是如此相似而熟悉，这不就是Shadow吗？心中的疑问）。然而，我们却忽视了一个问题：《Endtroducing...》和《Dead Ringer》相隔7年之久，如果真的相同，为何会称《Dead Ringer》为“未来的声音”？是我们失去了判断，还是众口一词的谎言？
这个疑问应该在整张唱片中化解。RJD2和Shadow还是有区别的：前者敏感、注重感情；而后者理智、技巧至上（无敌的Cut n' Paste）。为何两者相像，而听者还是能立刻辨别出他们各自的音乐也是这个道理。就如不告诉你艺人和作品，SOUL POSITION中D2、或是QUANNUM中的Shadow还是不会混淆。就我看来，《Dead Ringer》走向了感性化的征程( 第二张专辑《Since We Last Spoke》有所印证)，他是完整和耐人寻味的。至于“未来的声音”还是指95年的Shadow吧。两人像是在不同的方向上奔跑，比什么呢？时间、速度还是衰老？

For the record, yes I did buy dead ringer, and the Soul position EP AND LP.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the Loose Ends CD is only available at Rjd2 / Soul Position shows. The CD includes remixes and b-sides that are only available on vinyl. So, if you don't have the remixes and 12" records w/b-sides on wax, it is worth the buy (if you're not a record buyer). p's

Rj has blessed this release, however it is (was-?) only sold at the shows. It is a collection of tracks that he produced or remixed for other artists (a must have for any fan that doesn't have all of the 12"s and projects the tracks were originally released on).

That being said, he didn't have any copies when I saw the 8 mill Stories tour, and I hear original copies are hard to obtain.
